Long lasting splice

The high strength of Flexco Bolt Solid Fasteners is the result of superior design and plate compression on both the top and bottom sides of the belt. High tensile strength bolts compress top and bottom plates to distribute splice tension evenly across the entire width of each fastener plate, creating strong, durable splice. They're also available with rubber-covered top plates for increased impact protection and compatibility with conveyor components.

Best Practices in Conveyor Belt Rip Repair
Common types of conveyor belt rips and how to repair them with Flexco Bolt Solid Fasteners

Whether the trouble is minor or major – a lengthwise rip, a small puncture, a soft spot or even a hole – there are rip repair methods that will temporarily preserve the integrity of the damaged belt and get it back in operation with minimal downtime.

Clean Lengthwise Rips

Lengthwise rip

For lengthwise rips, standard Flexco Bolt Solid Plate Fasteners are recommended. Repair fasteners should always be applied crosswise on the belt and spaced in accordance with the material conveyed for smooth travel over pulleys.
Jagged Lengthwise Rips

Jagged ripsFor jagged, lengthwise conveyor belt tears, or for bridging “soft spots,” standard Bolt Solid  Plate Fasteners can be combined with three bolt Rip Repair Fasteners. Two of the three bolt fasteners should be placed along the weak or “flap” side of a jagged tear to increase stability.

Large holes

Large holes

For larger holes or punctures, a patch of belting can be attached to the original belt using standard Bolt Solid Plate Fasteners. Make a square hole in the belt, cutting out the damaged area. You can now use that damaged piece to cut a patch from the new belting.
