How Does Elevate Work?

Setting up an Elevate i3 onto your belt cleaner is easy. Operators must simply slide the device onto the cleaner pole end, tighten in place, and connect the device to the i3 Mobile App. In total, most belt cleaners can be up and running in 5 minutes or less. 

After coupling the i3 device to the cleaner, data is sent via cellular or Wi-Fi, with immediate access to the Elevate Dashboard. With data on blade performance, anomaly notifications, and cleaner engagement, Elevate is an excellent resource to ensure heavy-duty belt conveyors are performing up-to-standard.

Belt Rip Detected to Prevent Belt Failure

A Flexco Elevate® installation at a southern NSW Australia steel plant detected vibrational anomalies that prompted an investigation. A belt rip was discovered that, if not found, likely could have resulted in a significant failure and belt replacement.

i3 DASHBOARD OBSERVATION
Anomaly events for this cleaner notified the operations maintenance team and the Flexco Territory Manager, prompting an on-site investigation.

ON-SITE INVESTIGATION 
The alert prompted an inspection which signaled the start of a potentially catastrophic belt rip. The ripped section struck the cleaner, which was detected by the i3 device and triggered the events.

DIGITAL, PHYSICAL CONNECTION
Had there not been an i3 installed to detect the rip, and it went unnoticed, the maintenance team estimated that the rip had potential to cause an entire belt replacement.

Dashboard Notified Customer When to Inspect

A mine in the northern US implemented Flexco Elevate® on a difficult to inspect overland conveyor and avoided costly damage to the cleaner and the conveyor belt—preventing unnecessary damage to both and ultimately saving thousands of dollars in material and time.
